Work with/without/and/or Play?

Hmm, baby boomers actually are only just heading towards the retirement age, not retired as of yet. So that brings up the question, are they backpacking for long service leave? Are they backpacking because they want to before they are too old to do so? Do they have enough money to do so? Whilst they are able to access superannuation funds at 55, do they have enough in the bank? Are there actually any boomers that are retired now between the age of 55 to 65 that are backpacking? Curious-ne?

Hmm, mixing work and play, definitely opens up new avenues in terms of leisure travel, or backpacking. In about 5 years time, many of the Baby Boomers will have reached retirement age, and would be ready for that leisure traveling, reliving their backpacking days of old. I can see a niche market!

[Edit] Hmm, mild conundrum. We picked backpackers, discussed the older backpackers/travelers with Rina, then decided to pick an age group which happened to be 55 to 65 year olds, or the boomers (in about 5 years time)... Isn't that two socio-economic groups? How to get out of this fix? ... Group members, I need your contact details!

Baby boomers, backpackers, baby boomer backpackers, backpacking babyboomers ...

Just some food for thought.

And I'm talking about old backpackers, not backpackers from ye olde days. And not the gray nomads either..

Mmmm, Breaking the Ice

Mmmm, might as well break the ice with a first post. Something mentioned during the lecture about designing a visual language caused me to remember a little article from a previous tutor Brian Ling. Have a read.
